The Walters Art Museum is a public art museum in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, that was created in 1934 and inaugurated in Mount Vernon-Belvedere. It houses collections that date back to the mid-nineteenth century.
The Walters Art Gallery changed its name to the Walters Art Museum in 2000, reflecting the museum's status as a prominent public cultural institution. The Walters manages the museum's original collection and three of its five buildings, which are owned by the city of Baltimore.
