The Star Spangled Banner Flag House on 844 East Pratt Street was built in the late 17th century. At that time, Baltimore was one of the largest cities in the country. People of all ages, genders, backgrounds and skill levels were looking for a job in this fast-growing city.
The flag design was last approved by Congress in 1794 and required 15 stripes and 15 stars. This wasn't updated until April 4, 1818, so Pickersgill sewed 15 stars. By the way, each star is made of cotton and was manufactured using the reverse coating process. \
The code states that existing people are expected to face up with a flag. Citizens need to pay attention with their right hand on the heart, but uniformed military and veterans need to salute the whole thing.
