Patterson Park is a city park located in the southeastern part of Baltimore, Maryland, United States, adjacent to the Canton, Highland Town, Patterson Park, and Butchers Hill Autonomous Regions. Surrounded by East Baltimore Street, Eastern Avenue, South Patterson Park Avenue and South Linwood Avenue.
Notable attractions include Boat Lake (where fishing is permitted), marble fountains, the Plaskey Monument and the Patterson Park Observatory.
The park is open from morning till evening.
Invented as a lookout tower for people, it was built in late 1891 (although it may not have been fully completed until 1892, as the numbers on the stained glass beams indicate). It is on a hill above the Patapsco River (at this point Baltimore Harbor).
