The USS Constellation is a sloop-of-war gunboat and the last all-sail ship designed and manufactured by the US Navy. She was built at the Gosport Shipyard between 1853 and 1855 and is named after a former frigate of the same name that was dismantled in 1853.
The USS Constellation was finally discontinued in 1955 after 100 years of service. Located in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, this ship is the only ship that survived the Civil War. It is now a National Historic Landmark.
The USS Constellation Museum Gallery and Ship is located at Pier 1 in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.
As a result of being designated as a National Historic Landmark, the constellations are open to the public as part of a historic ship in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.
